Jolie’s Father’s Day lunch

Welcome to Vanha-Norri to celebrate Father’s Day! In honor of Father’s Day, our Sunday brunch will be transformed into a lunch, featuring an salad buffet, a warm main course, and a melt-in-your-mouth triple-chocolate mousse cake. On Father’s Day, we will host two seatings: at 11:00 and 13:00.

My own father lives far away in Switzerland, and since his health has been a source of concern this autumn, I would like to dedicate this Father’s Day lunch to him. When I was a teenager, I had the chance to join my father in a professional kitchen, the first time I’d ever been in one, where we cooked Hungarian paprika chicken for a large group. Karjalanpaisti (Karelian hot pot), or nowadays Paija’s Urjala hot pot, has long been one of my father’s favourite dishes, also this past summer, a summer that may well have been his last at our cottage in Urjala.
